Day 235 - 238: Awesome weekend #5 - Cherry Blossoms...or not.

March 28 - April 1, 2013.

We were looking forward to this trip for over a month. Finally it was here. This was our, V's and mine, first trip together across the border alone. I loved every second of it. Including the bus rides even though I wasnt able to fall asleep. But if I did, I would miss the beautiful sceneries on the way there and back. One in particular: the valley of lights. We were lucky we had great seats too. Megabus is awesome.  Especially if you sit in the very first 2 rows of seats on the upper deck of the bus. Theres glass windows in front, sides and above. Minimizes the boredom of the 13 hour long ride.

Unfortunately, this year the spring is late. The full bloom period moved ahead by a whole week and so there were no beautiful cherry blossoms for us to see at the National Mall. The main purpose of the trip was a fail. We ended up going to the zoo instead, where once again, we didn't much animals. And the few we got to see were either sleeping or had their back turned towards us. It was fun none the less. 

We did get to learn how to drive a manual car. Somewhat. Haha. It was fun but definitely not a easy task. I guess you get better with practice. In the end, it ended up being a good trip. It always is. :)
