When I gave my second year exam for Kathak, my kathak guru had only taught us what was absolutely necessary to know for second year exams. We had rushed through the limited syllabus in four months and gave the exams. We didn't get enough time to perfect the speed and movements of second year. My guru thought I could catch up if I wanted and so she promoted me to another batch which ahead of my level in terms of 3rd year syllabus by 6 months. My fellow batch mates have had the time to practice and perfect whatever they had learnt and hence, they are more faster and better dancers than me. I don't want to slow them down, so I'll have to practice everyday and increase my speed of footwork. This is challenging for me, but I am not complaining. I get to challenge my brain and body, and this is one of the major reasons that I wanted to learn Kathak in the first place. The footwork and the movements are getting more complicated and I am loving it.<3Day 68: Challenging...
