Day 268 - 282 : FINALLY....Cherry Blossoms!

May 1 - 15, 2013.

Summer is here! However, its sad how Canada almost skipped spring this year. Or at least it felt like that. It hardly lasted a week. In all the confusion, the plants didn't get enough time to recover from winter. I can see the effects in my backyard. Maybe few of the many tulip bulbs flowered this year. No honeysuckle. Not bushy enough lilac. I was especially disappointed with the fragrant flowering plants. I remember last year, when we stepped out on our deck in the backyard during spring, we used to get hit with the soft and sweet fragrance of the honeysuckle flowers. It was amazing. This year...none of that. I guess it will get colorful slowly through the summer, but Ill definitely miss the fragrance. I guess I could plant a jasmine or something since I love the nice smelling flowers. Maybe I will. :P

May 3rd: We had a plan to go to the woodbine beach. Woodbine beach is one of the best lake beaches in Toronto. For the same reason, its also one of the most crowded beaches during the summer and finding a parking is also a pain. Nevertheless, love it. It was a little chilly and windy that day. Water was ice cold. People were kite boarding. It was amazing to watch them. I wish I could do it too. It definitely went on my bucket list that day. I was pretty impressed. I am always very attracted to any water sports. Anyway, since the water was too cold, we decided to check out the cherry blossoms in Toronto downtown. It was definitely a fantastic idea! :D

High park is a wonderful place to go to during cherry blossoms season and I bet it's just as beautiful during fall. There's also a lake down the slope which was beautiful and serene.
