Day 104: Masterpieces!

Sunday. November 18, 2012.

Khandvi
Daal Makhni
I was in the kitchen since morning till afternoon today. We were going to have guests over for lunch today and we needed to make something different. A few days ago I had tried my hands on making Khandvi and so mom and aunty asked me to make some more this time. The thing making with Khandvi is that if you want to make large amounts, you have to make it in batches. Aunty and I, with a joint effort, were successful at making enough for both the families. Another thing I made is Daal Makhni. I can safely say that I am best Daal Makhni maker in my house, if not, then mom would have made it herself. I put a lot of work in both the dishes and I was tad bit happy with how they turned out.

Many people are surprised when they here I can cook, simply because I seem* to them like I don't care about learning 'ghar ke kaam' or house chores. I think* if they knew me enough, they would be surprised how much I know and how much I can handle.

The rest of day, I spent my time with a friend I hadn't spend time with for months. She complained for the same reason and I listened. Even so, it was a fun evening. We went to Demetre's Cafe, had some really rich desserts and watched Jab Tak Hai Jaan. (It was the second time for me to watch this movie but I couldn't say no to my friend.)
