Usually I sleep late, somehow my eyes opened really early in the morning. Oh and how happy I was they did. It must be 6-something. There was a canoe launch area at the end of a trail which started right across our campsite. Four of us walked down that trail to the open area to witness heaven. Dramatic eh? :P

Rest of the day was spent at the main swimming area. The water was crystal clear. Even if the water level was till my shoulders, I could still see the bottom of the lake.
Nice, chilly water, hot summer day and beautiful view. What more can you ask for! I was happy and I was at peace! You know, one of those days, when you wish there was a turn off switch for your mind/brain. At this place, you don't even need one.
We wanted to do canoeing, but unfortunately, we couldn't get to it. One reason was that, we were enjoying the water too much to get out of it. :DAnother was that, you really need to inquire about these things, ahead of time and we had not. We will definitely be making another trip sometime to Algonquin and hopefully that time we will stay longer and have time for everything.
Although there were actual pathways to the swimming area, we had decided to do some hiking through the woods to get to and back. It was fun. The trails went through all kinds of areas, including ditches (worst of them). I think one of us, even had their foot sunk in the mud. Nonetheless, it was a lot of fun and adventure, and that's exactly what we were there for. :)
At night, we executed our plan from yesterday. We took that the bamboo rug/beach mat, went to the main swimming area. We lay on our backs on the rug and stared at the great open view we had of the sky. Even though the moon looked beautiful in the sky, I think the brightness from the moon kept us from being able to see a lot more stars. We did, however, see FOUR shooting stars. There must have been a meteor shower that night. I had never seen four in one hour before let alone one night and it was spectacular. With this ended our adventurous, fun, peaceful, relaxing and the most amazing day.
