If I die tomorrow, I know I danced today so I'll die happy. :P
From the day I joined my dance classes, I kept thinking, I should've started earlier. Kathak takes years of training and if I had started earlier I might have definitely finished my training. Right now, I don't know whether I will keep at it and finish the Visharad (Bachelors). I certainly hope I do.
I am sooooo happy that I even started learning and that I am still at it with 100% enthusiasm. Knowing me, a lazy bum, I didn't think I would get this far. I totally got hooked. Not only did I get hooked on learning and dancing, but I am completely mesmerized when watching my Guru dance or many other Kathak exponents. One of my most favorites is Guru Shambhavi Dandekar. I want to be able to dance like her. That's definitely a far fetched idea since I started so late but I hope I can get close. Her footwork is clean and perfect.
Even after watching so many kathak videos on Youtube, this remains my favourite:
